Cape Town – Pre-sale tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers' shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg have reportedly opened via the band's website.

Fans have been posting photos on Twitter of what appears to be their already bought tickets, which are available through the Red Hot Chili Peppers' website.

Kate Whitney Chauncey tweeted: "#RHCP golden circle ticket booked for February 2013! Please let the world not end in December." She posted the following photo:

Others have expressed their concern about whether there will be any tickets left on Thursday, when the sale officially opens to the public. Ryan Brunyee tweeted: "How are people getting tickets already?? Big concerts says Wednesday and I see people posting pics?"

Roxy Burger also expressed her concern, asking "Um.... @bigconcerts - how is it that some people already have tickets to #RHCPSA ??"

Big Concerts, who confirmed on Monday that Red Hot Chili Peppers will be touring South Africa next year, posted the following on Twitter: "RHCP ran a pre-sale directly through their website for limited inventory."

Computicket also confirmed this, tweeting "For info on pre-sales for please contact Big Concerts. Computicket has been asked to open public bookings from Wed."

Tickets and itinerary

The tour is scheduled for Saturday 2 February at the Soccer City Complex, FNB Stadium, Johannesburg and on Tuesday 5 February at Cape Town Stadium.

Tickets go on public sale via all Computicket channels for the Johannesburg performance at 09:00 on Wednesday 29 August, followed by Cape Town at 09:00 on Thursday 30 August.
