Johannesburg - Hot off their European tour, South African rock band Prime Circle have chosen to bring the music home to their fans, with a national tour in December.
With the success of their chart topping album Jekyll & Hyde, which produced several top 10 hits, Prime Circle claimed the title of the No 1 band in South Africa. The platinum-selling album saw the five-piece rock band take on the world – literally.
After two successful European tours, and sharing the stage with Billboard-charting artists 3 Doors Down and Alter Bridge, as well as taking home the SAMA for Best Rock Album and the MK Award’s International Breakthrough Act, the popular band have chosen to bring the music home to their fans, by embarking on a national tour during December.
'Extremely proud'
"This has been a fantastic year and we are grateful to the fans for making most of it happen," says lead singer, Ross Learmonth.
"Jekyll & Hyde went gold in nine days and then platinum soon after. We also played on stage with 3 Doors Down and Alter Bridge, which is a coup for any artist wanting to break the international market. And that is why we will be touring South Africa over the December period – to bring our music back home to our fans."
Marketing Manager for New Music at EMI South Africa, Kevin Grenfell added, "We are extremely proud to be associated with a band of such high calibre. Their [album] sales figures as well as the awards they have won, speak for themselves."
