RAMfest closes main festival area

Worcestor – Organisers of RAMfest have requested patrons to vacate the main festival area while two international bands do their sound check.

According to Channel24's Sam Brighton, who is at the festival, organisers at RAMfest asked everyone to leave the main festival area on Saturday before 09:00 for 30 minutes and go to their tents or the river in an effort to clear the area for sound checks.

The two international bands at RAMfest 2011 are American punk band Alkaline Trio and Welsh rock outfit Funeral For A Friend.

The request for patrons to vacate the main area has resulted in frustration as people were not able to purchase breakfast.

One festivalgoer, who only wanted to be named as Adam, said the decision by organisers is "fucking ridiculous" and "shit".

Festival goers were reportedly allowed back into the main festival area at 09:30 on Saturday.

Alkaline Trio played two songs during their sound check especially for the crowd, according to reports.

RAMfest V takes place March 4-6 at Nekkies Resort in Worcester.
