Radiohead release surprise new video

London - Radiohead have released a surprise video for the song Lotus Flower, as well as announcing that they have brought forward the release date of their highly anticipated new album, entitled The King of Limbs, by 24 hours.

The tech-savvy band shocked their fans by announcing the new album on Monday, just five days before the album was to be released on Saturday, February 19.

But on Friday a spokesperson for Radiohead's record label XL said that people who pre-ordered the album during the course of the week will receive the album that day, one day ahead of the official release.

"With everything ready on their website, the band decided to bring forward the release by a day rather than wait until the planned date of Saturday, Feb 19 to deliver the music," he said.

In a further bid to generate hype and intrigue, the band tweeted a time and location for a mysterious event that was to take place in Tokyo, Japan. Although the gathering was later cancelled due to safety concerns, the band soon posted the video for Lotus Flower on Youtube. There was speculation that the location would have been the site for the premiere of the new music video.

The UK rock band, best known for their albums OK Computer and Kid A, tweeted a link to the brand new video early on Friday which instantly went viral, shooting to the top of Twitter's trending topics.
