Nashville - Reba McEntire has invited good friend Blake Shelton to join her as co-host of this year's Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
Shelton is known for his blistering sense of humour and continues a hot streak that has included ACM and Country Music Association award wins, No 1 songs and now his first hosting gig. And he'll marry country firebrand Miranda Lambert later this year.
The awards will air on April 3 from the MGM Grand on CBS.
Shelton and McEntire announced last year's ACM nominations together and everyone noticed a chemistry. Longtime host McEntire approached producers about inviting him to join. Shelton, known to tell an occasional off-colour tale, says in a statement, "you never know what we might say!"
