Report for duty sailors! It's time for MCQP 2014!

Cape Town - Three lucky Channel24 readers can each win two tickets to the 21st MCQP event in Cape Town on Saturday, 20 December.

Dress up in your coolest Royal Navy themed costume to celebrate the occasion along with thousands of other partygoers at the Cape Town City Hall and Grand Parade.

It's going to be a day filled with music, dance and pageantry. A number of emcees, including Lola Fine and DJs from UCT Radio and MFM will be welcoming guests on the pink carpet. The gates open at 17:00.

Event director, Ian McMahon, says the crew is ready to go over board for this very special occasion. “This year, not only do we celebrate our coming-of-age party, but also 20 years of freedom and we could not think of a more appropriate venue than where Tata Madiba made his first public speech in 1990, after spending 27 years in prison.”

Partygoers will be treated to seven dance floors, each with its own theme and music style, and can look forward to a huge line-up which includes local and international DJ’s and performers. Other performers include acts like Dean Fuel, Jamie Saint, DJ Chadd, VJ Karl, The Kiffness, Jacques Terre'Blanche, Sam Roy and many more in what has become an iconic Cape Town event.  There will be food offerings, stalls and many more royal features to look forward to.

Like last year the organisers combine two themes. Kings and queens and everything from the house of Windsor, Tudor and Cards, sailors, seamen, petty officers, pirates and even some luminous starfish are expected to light up the pink carpet. A number of emcees will welcome partygoers on the red carpet, one of the highlights of the day.

Tickets can be purchased from the website.

Although no VIP tickets this year, there will be 300 limited Royal Enclosure tickets available, which treat holders to an open bar all night (and more entitlements fit for a queen), for your highness’ pleasure as well as eight Royal Boxes where the monarchs and princes get their own space for the entire grand performance. Each box holds 20 royals only.
