Los Angeles - If the internet police have taught me one thing it’s that I shouldn’t like Taylor Swift. (And also that I’m not allowed to Instagram my food)
So when social media started buzzing about a new Swift music video I was ready to get my hater-goggles on and watch the YouTube video with an "oh-no-thát-prom-queen-again" attitude.
I was ready to click share and caption my tweet with; "Does the world really need more of this?".
What happened while I was watching the newly released video for Shake It Off, which is accompanied by the release of Swift's surprise new single, was rather unexpected.
I found myself tapping my foot and shaking my head along with the beat. The video is fresh, entertaining and reminds of something you’ll see on the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance. (Yeah, I also secretly like to watch tacky reality TV shows.)
In the video Taylor jokes about the stereotypical dance moves of her fellow musos and throws a giant invisible middle finger to her haters. Take that mofos!
Well, screw the haters and the internet police, I say! I'm not going to dislike the video because everyone says I should. I’ve decided that I like this new Taylor video even if it makes me "uncool". I’ll just shake it off…shake it off.
