Cape Town - Chad Saaiman is back in surgery after he was shot in a botched hijacking in Johannesburg in June.
Saaiman was shot in the abdomen on June 5 when he tried to escape hijackers on Louis Botha Avenue in Johannesburg after leaving friend Loyiso Bala's house.
Saaiman had relocated from Cape Town to Johannesburg just a month before the hijacking took place.
While the singer recovered fully from the ordeal, he has been living with the bullet in his abdomen since the incident.
Saaiman tweeted on Sunday: "Bullet gets removed in the morning...off to bed now.Goodnight World *CS"
On Monday the singer was ready for surgery, writing on his Twitter page: "According to the surgeon, bullet has surfaced enough to be removed "easily and quickly" Thank God".
He later also said he wants to hold onto the bullet, tweeting: "I want to keep the bullet, and keep it as a memento, then put it in that same cabinet as that SAMA and Grammy I spoke of before."
Chad's brother Lee Saaiman told Channel24 that he is undergoing surgery at a hospital in the Western Cape. He also said Chad will most likely move back to Johannesburg "in a month or two".
