New York - Who knew Eddie Murphy was a reggae man?
The elusive actor released the first track from his forthcoming album 9, called Red Light. His last album came out in 1993, but that doesn't mean he stopped writing songs. He just stopped giving the world a chance to hear them, according to an exclusive interview he had with Rolling Stone.
Eddie added a music studio to his Beverly Hills mansion and kept going at it while being "semi-retired" from movies, he said in the interview.
He wanted a rapper for the track and got in the reinvented Snoop Lion, with whom the comedian did another track, labeled as the next "weed anthem" called Mellow Miss Mary.
The album will hit the shelves next year.
