London - The Spice Girls are due to be reunited in London to announce details of a stage musical based on their songs.

The music of the 1990s "girl power" group is being revived in Viva Forever.

Producers say they will announce on Tuesday details of the show, produced by Judy Craymer, who was behind world conquering ABBA musical Mamma Mia.

The musical is being written by comedian Jennifer Saunders, who co-created TV sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.

It is expected to open in London's West End late this year.

Band members Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham — also known as Baby, Sporty, Scary, Ginger and Posh — are expected to attend the announcement. The group split a decade ago.
