Sting coming to SA

Cape Town – Big Concerts announced on Tuesday that Grammy award winner and The Police frontman Sting will de touring South Africa in March 2012.

Following the success of his North American tour, Sting's Back to Bass Tour will extend to South Africa in 2012 as he celebrates the 25th anniversary of his solo career.

In support of Sting: 25 Years, the recently released box set collection, Back to Bass will see Sting perform songs spanning his career from his 1985 debut The Dream of the Blue Turtles to his latest release, Live in Berlin – as well as a selection of The Police's greatest hits.

Highlights include the Grammy winners Brand New Day and If I Ever Lose My Faith in You plus fan favourites Englishman in New York, Desert Rose and Roxanne.

Sting will be joined by a band including his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, Rufus Miller (guitarist), Vinnie Colaiuta (drummer), Peter Tickell (electric fiddle), and Jo Lawry (vocalist).
 
Members of the Sting fan club will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance with complete tour and ticket information at www.sting.com.
