Cape Town - Huisgenoot-Skouspel, the pioneering Afrikaans music concert that has been held at Sun City for the past 15 years, becomes SuperSkouspel this year with Susan Boyle as international guest artist.

This will be the Scottish singing sensation's first performance in Africa and she’ll be appearing only at SuperSkouspel.

kykNET and Big Concerts are now equal partners in this big music project and together a new plan has been devised to give Skouspel a new look to create an Afrikaans music extravaganza the country has never seen before.

Instead of a number of shows over two weekends there will now be one big show for 30 000 people on 19 September at the FNB Stadium.

Icons such as David Kramer and Leon Schuster will sing their hits at SuperSkouspel while Skouspel favourites such as Kurt Darren, Nadine, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Karen Zoid, Adam Tas, Emo Adams, Andriëtte and Adam will also be there.

Francois van Coke will sing his hit, Toe Vind Ek Jou, with Karen Zoid.

Tickets can be bought at Computicket from 9 am on Friday 26 June.  Prices start at R199. (South Africa’s first World Cup match against Japan, which starts at 17:45, will be screened live on large screens in the stadium to enable concert-goers to watch it. The SuperSkouspel show starts at 20:00.)
