The Channel24 Weekend Music Mix: Vol 9 Glastonbury

Cape Town – We wish we were at Glastonbury.

Yes, we have lots of incredible music festivals in South Africa and throughout the continent but the reason we’re pining away for the terrible weather and mud of the English countryside is because this massive get together has THE most amazing line-up this year.

So, because this is us right now:

We have changed things up a bit with this week’s Weekend mix. Instead of posting a local music aficionado’s music mix we’ve taken 15 of our favourite artists on the bill for the big stages at the festival and combined them into a mega mix for your (and our) listening pleasure.

We tried to include a song for every type of music fan. From indie rock to country to rap. It's a smorgasbord of sounds with something for everyone.

It includes local flavour in the form of indie afro fusion band John Wizards, and house DJs Thibo Tazz and Fosta who are making us proud by hitting the festival’s stage for the first time.

Here’s the full track list:

John Wizards - Muizenberg
Arcade Fire - Wake Up
Thibo Tazz - Turn Up Beat
HAIM - The Wire
Ellie Goulding (Ft. Angel Haze) - Life Round Here
Lily Allen - Sheezus (Redlight Deconstructed Mix)
Ed Sheeran - Sing [Syn Cole Remix]
The Black Keys - Gold on The Ceiling
SAM SMITH - Latch (Acoustic Live)
Bombay Bicycle Club - It's Alright Now
DJ Fosta- Ondela Song
John Newman - Out Of My Head (Naughty Boy Remix)
Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full Of Lead (BBC Live Version)
Lana Del Rey - West Coast
Dolly Parton - Blue Smoke

We’ll be giving you a new music mix or playlist every Friday sourced from a local music aficionado/band so you can get the newest and best first.
