Holi Festival of Colours
Johannesburg - The Holi Festival of Colours World Tour will be celebrating spring with us South Africans this Friday at The Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johannesburg.

The Indian festival has grown very popular worldwide since Germany turned it into a big open-air music festival. It was first brought to SA in March this year with the Holi One Festival.

Here are some more fun facts about the colourful event that will make you wish you had a ticket.

1. The tour visits eight countries and 30 cities, making it a global smash of colour.

2. It originated in India, which marked the passing of winter and the start of a new beginning - spring. Time to bury all those cold hatchets.

3. The festival also brings together people of all walks of life, throwing away the barriers to equality. Throw that class system out the window.

4. From 15:00 festival goers throw coloured powder in the air every hour, keeping the rainbow of colours flowing for the whole event.

5. Goldfish, who have been doing headlining gigs in the Netherlands and Ibiza, will be jamming at the Jozi event.

6. Crazy White Boy will be bringing kwaito and house blends to add to the colour of music.

7. 5FM presenter DJ Fresh, Dirty Herz, The Kiffness, Mark Stent and Royal K will also be taking to the Holi stage to keep the party going.

8. Tickets range from R215 to R295, the latter one includes 5 coloured powder bags, which are non-damaging to the environment or people.

9.  You know you want to be covered in colour.

10. From head to toe.
