Johannesburg - Springbok Nude Girls and African superstars Mariam and Amadou have been announced as support acts for U2 in South Africa for both Johannesburg and Cape Town performances.
Springbok Nude Girls burst onto the indie music scene in the mid 1990s, and struck a chord with the university crowd around their hometown of Stellenbosch.
Amadou and Mariam is one of the the best-selling - and best-loved - acts to come out of Africa this century. Among their career highlights are gracing the main stages of Glastonbury and the FIFA World Cup opening. They have performed with amongst others Damon Albarn, Manu Chao, Coldplay and the Scissor Sisters and have been enthusiastically embraced by Western rock fans. They have also recently played the Nobel Peace Prize concert in honour of Barack Obama.
