U2 360° wraps, breaks all records

Cape Town – U2 has wrapped its mammoth 360° tour in Moncton, New Brunswick, setting revenue and attendance records for a world tour.

Numbers reported to Billboard estimate that the tour grossed $736 137 344.  More than 7 million people would have seen the show by its closing at the weekend.

The previous record for a tour's gross revenue was held by The Rolling Stones at $558m.

The success of the tour is attributed to the enduring appeal of the U2 brand, as well as the design of the show, which allowed for increased audience capacities at concert venues.
