US rock band to headline Synergy

Cape Town – US band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC) have been officially announced as the international headlining act at this year's Synergy Live festival.

The festival is set to take place from 25 - 27 November at the Boschendal Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley, Western Cape.

BRMC is made up of Peter Hayes on guitar and drums, Robert Levon Been on bass and piano, and vocalist, drummer and percussionist Leah Shapiro.

The band's sixth album Beat the Devil’s Tattoo was released in March 2010.

The festival will also boast an international act on the electro stage in the form of a Brazilian dance duo made up of Marcus aka Jim and Eduardo aka Du as Dirtyloud.

SA's own The Narrow headlines the SA contingent on Synergy Live 2011. The band received wide support for their debut Self Conscious, which spawned 4 singles in South Africa. The album was voted best rock album and was nominated for a SAMA (South African Music Award).

The rest of the festival lineup includes bands such as Isochronous, Desmond and the Tutus, a King, Taxi Violence, Saint Fearless while the electro acts include  Brucewillis, Jam Jarr, Riot Squad, PHFAT, and Double Adapter.
