Cape Town - A relative newcomer to the SA music scene has confounded industry pundits by notching 200 000 unit sales for her debut album.
Eastern-Cape born Afro Soul guitarist and singer Zahara has already taken her album Lolilwe multi-platinum.
EMI Music / CCP Records Marketing Manager Wandile Sikhosana , who confirmed that sales have now reached the 200k unit mark, said: "It's been a while since I've witnessed such excitement over a new artist. By the time the CDs hit the warehouse, there is already a queue of music outlets ready to take delivery of their stock."
A source at Zahara's record label remarked to Channel24: "Many people have called saying they can't believe these numbers, but we can prove it!"
