Cape Town – Michael Bublé’s in town and so is his opening act, a cappella group, Naturally 7.
The American music group with a distinct a capella sound they call "vocal play", take songs and put their own soulful rendition on it! #welove
The members include seven guys and they are: Napoleon Cumming – guitar, Warren Thomas – guitar, Dwight Stewart – trumpet, Rod Eldridge – trumpet, Roger Thomas – baritone, Armand Hutton – bass guitar and Garfield Buckley – harmonica.
The guys sat down with Channel24 for a quickie.
C24: Is it your first time in South Africa?
N7: No, it’s actually our second time.
C24: Will you be doing some sightseeing while in SA?
N7: No unfortunately not. Tomorrow morning we’re headed straight to Johannesburg. But some of us did make a trip to Table Mountain this morning.
C24: What makes your sound so different?
N7: Well, we call our style vocal play. It's different to others because we use our voices to create unique sounds whether its beatboxing or basic rhythm and tempo... I think our song choices and the renditions also counts because we like to play around and make the songs our own.
C24: Do you all get along? Who has the most annoying habit?
N7: Well, we don't wanna throw anyone under the bus, so lets just say it differs from day to day. I think we all get under each other’s skin sometimes.
C24: What is your favourite song to sing as a group together?
N7: I would definitely say Fix you by Coldplay.
#FixYou Thank you so much, @coldplay! This means so much to us. We've wanted to cover a Coldplay song since long before we were invited to hang out with the guys at their London studio. #FixYou was the song we chose after hearing the band sing it at the Barclays Center Brooklyn, when we opened for them at the end of 2012. The rest, as they say, is history! http://bit.ly/N7FixYouShortA photo posted by Naturally 7 (@naturally_7) on Oct 7, 2014 at 2:02pm PDT

C24: What’s it like touring with Michael Bublé… any pranks or stories you can tell us?
N7: There are lots! But one time when Michael was on stage, the crew dressed up and when he turned around everyone was in drag... It was so hilarious! But it's great touring with Michael we've done it for a while now and we're loving it.
Naturally 7 is opening tonight for Michael Bublé in Cape Town and will be performing in Johannesburg on Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March.
