Even in South Africa there have been some negative reactions to their SA tour announcements. There are already petitions popping up to stop Nickelback from coming to our lovely country.
Maybe live and let live?
Some vented their frustration on the Twitter-sphere:
It's all fun and games, and then Nickelback really comes to South Africa

You were joking about Nickelback coming to South Africa, now look what you've done.

Big Concerts is bringing Nickelback to South Africa. I think I'm gonna have a bruised cheek from face-palming too hard.

Some even equated Nickelback with Apartheid:
NICKELBACK COMING TO SOUTH AFRICA? THESE ARE THE WORST WHITE PEOPLE TO COME HERE SINCE APARTHEID.

Anglo-Boer Wars - Apartheid - Nickelback Tour. South Africa just can't seem to catch a break.

Some thought the Guptas were behind it:
What if the Guptas brought Nickelback to South Africa just to punish us? #guptagate

There was some confusion about supporting acts:
According to @BigConcerts, @michaeljackson will be performing with @Nickelback this year in South Africa. Seems Legit pic.twitter.com/8HjtSvdG9A

Generally, people thought it was a bad move:
The two worst things in the world happened to South Africa today: #romainpoite and #nickelback
— Jennifer Stott (@jen_stott) September 14, 2013
But Nickelback does not seem to understand the hate:
*What do you think? Should we just let Nickelback fans be or should we get our pitchforks ready? E-mail us your thoughts and get published!
