Wonderboom drummer Garth McLeod dies

Cape Town – Wonderboom and Sugardrive drummer Garth McLeod has been killed in a motorcycle accident in Gauteng, reports Rolling Stone.

Wonderboom frontman Cito told Rolling Stone magazine that the accident happened on Friday morning.

No further details are available at this time.

Tributes and messages of condolences to McLeod and his family have been pouring in on Facebook and Twitter.

Former Van Coke Kartel drummer Justin Kruger wrote: "I am absolutely devastated by the news of the very tragic passing of the most incredible friend and person known to man Garth McLeod!!!! You are the last person that deserves to be taken away from us! Rest in Peace Boytjie!"

"A truly sad loss for SA music. R.I.P Garth McLeod - legend human and incredible drummer for Sugardrive, Wonderboom. Condolences to all," Just Jinjer tweeted.

Another friend said: "What a terrible tragedy. RIP Garth. Condolences to Anne-Mari, Garth's family and his friends."

McLeod is survived by his wife Anne-Mari.
