Xzibit to perform in South Africa

Cape Town - Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, better known by his stage name Xzibit, is set to perform in Johannesburg.

The American rapper, actor and television host of MTV show Pimp my Ride which brought him mainstream success, will wow fans with just one performance in Johannesburg during the first week of December 2012. The venue and the exact date where the concert will be taking place, is yet to be confirmed.

Ticket prices for the concert will range between R250 and R750.

Before hosting Pimp My Ride, Xzibit achieved fame in the hip-hop scene as a rapper, debuting with his acclaimed At the Speed of Life and gathering chart success with his follow-up albums Restless, Man vs. Machine and Weapons of Mass Destruction.

First rapper to reach out to overseas artists

Xzibit released his latest studio album on 9 October, which is titled Napalm.

He has also collaborated with some high-profile artists such as Eminem, Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Dr Dre, Timbaland, Alice Cooper, The Game and 50 Cent.

After the cancellation of Pimp My Ride in 2007, Xzibit went on to appear in various movie roles including The X-Files: I Want to Believe, American Violet and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. It was also during this time that Sony released his first greatest hits album, entitled The Greatest Hits.
