Cape Town – Calling all Iron Maiden fans!
The band announced their plans for a world tour in 2016 on their website on Tuesday, and South Africa is on the list of countries they will be playing.
The tour will be called The Book of Souls tour, which is also the title of their brand new album set for release on 4 September.
In the post on their website, the band revealed that vocalist Bruce Dickinson is set to pilot a Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet, also called Ed Force One, to play in six of the seven continents travelling over 88 500km around the globe for the tour.
The Book Of Souls World Tour is expected to visit around 35 countries including first ever concerts in China, El Salvador and South Africa.
"Shows in SOUTH AFRICA, Maiden’s first visit there with Bruce, will be the last port of call before Ed Force One heads to EUROPE for a very extensive tour starting in late May and finishing in early August," the post reads.
Big Concerts posted Iron Maiden’s new video last week already on their Facebook page with the message: "Check out Iron Maiden's new single/video 'Speed of Light' off their up and coming 16th studio album 'The Book of Souls' ... Like if you want them to tour SA in 2016!!"
And on Wednesday they shared Iron Maiden’s post on their wall together with the following message: "Are you ready South Africa? Keep an eye on our website bigconcerts.co.za for more info coming soon!!"
Yes, we are so ready!
