Cape Town – Music videos and pop culture-at-large perpetuate that image of the perfect woman that we’ve seen since silent films were popular.
With the hair fixed just so and the body that makes all the boys drool. The videos on MTV are usually the epitome of this.
With so-called ‘video girls’ gyrating so hard that you’re liable to get sea sick just watching them (not that there’s anything wrong with being a video girl but it’s also important that there’s an alternative).
What we love about this video directed by Mishka Kornai is that it’s the antithesis of the above, highlighting the lyrics of this song by Grammy award winner John Legend.
It has star power with John’s wife, super model Christine Teigen and Orange is the New Black actress Laverne Cox showing a side of them we might have never seen before. More vulnerable. Without words just beautifully shot moving pictures of the view from behind the mirror.
