Adele hints at a new album by the end of the year

Los Angeles - Adele is planning to release new material later this year.

The Hello hitmaker has teased she'll drop a new record - the follow up to her highly successful third album 25 - by the time she's wrapped up her 105-date world tour in November.

Speaking to her fans during her first gig at Belfast's SSE Arena in Northern Ireland earlier this week, she said: "There may be a new song towards the end of the shows."

But the 27-year-old singer will need to get cracking if she wants a new release this year, as she has admitted she's yet to pull out a pen and paper and start penning some lyrics.

She added: "I haven't written anything yet, though!"

And, although she left fans waiting four years for her recent album 25, the blonde beauty is adamant she won't be taking another hiatus any time soon as she wants to make her son Angelo, three, whom she has with her partner Simon Konecki, proud of her.

According to The Sun newspaper, she explained: "In between my albums I popped out a baby. It is the greatest thing I ever did. Now I have complete purpose. I want him to be proud of me and understand why I do this."

Meanwhile, Adele has a busy few months ahead of her as she's got 20 more shows in the UK before she moves on to Sweden, Denmark and Germany, and wraps up in North America - finishing in Mexico City - on 15 November.
