Arno Carstens set to release his first Afrikaans album

Cape Town – Arno Carstens will be releasing his very first Afrikaans album later this year.

During his career as lead singer for Springbok Nude Girls and then solo artist, Arno has released ten studio albums. Five as the lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls, one as the electronica project Bhelltower and four as a solo artist.

Now, Arno has announced the release of his Afrikaans EP, Die Aand, which will be followed by the release of a full length album, Die Aandblom 13, in July 2016.

"I’ve been writing and performing English rock music for 22 years, so it’s an unusual but exciting experience to rediscover something I know so well, in a totally new way. It is with great pleasure that I would like to introduce to you my first Afrikaans EP as an introduction to the soon full length album which will be available mid 2016," says Arno.

Die Aandblom 13 is the address where Arno grew up and is symbolic as it is where his Afrikaans roots sprouted.

The pre-ordering of Arno’s EP will open on iTunes on 22 April with his first single Ontwaak also being available on the same day.

Arno will be launching his EP at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria on Saturday 23 April. The shows starts at 20:00 and tickets cost between R140-R160. Book your ticket at Computicket.

You can hear Arno sing some Afrikaans in Francois van Coke's new video for his song Ek Weet Nie, which was released on Friday.
