Aussie rockers The Temper Trap heading to SA

Cape Town – Splashy Fen organisers announced on Thursday that Australian rockers The Temper Trap will be headlining the local music festival next year.

The announcement was made after four local headliners were announced including December Streets, Desmond and The Tutus, Jack Parow and Springbok Nude Girls.

See the announcement on their Facebook page here:

After a hugely successful re-launch earlier this year, the 2016 Splashy Fen Revival introduced fans, both old and new, to a fresh venue redesign, a star-studded line-up of international and local acts, and a unique festival programme that unquestionably put the iconic music festival back on the map.

"The Temper Trap is a momentous signing for us as Splashy Fen," says festival director Stu Berry. "It’s a vital step in showing our fans just how serious we are about building the Splashy Fen brand, and giving it the credibility it deserves - as a festival that offers outstanding entertainment and value-for-money."

More of the music you love

In addition to the existing four stages, 2017 will see the inclusion of a Treehouse Stage and musical performance for every one and every taste. The Splashy Fen 2017 Phase One Acts include some of South Africa’s favourites: Springbok Nude Girls, Jack Parow, December Streets and Desmond and the Tutus; plus 100 more acts to be announced in the months leading up to the Easter-weekend music festival.

What’s new

Impi Concept Events Business Manager Stu Berry is grateful to all those who showed their support in 2016, and is excited about all the new additions for 2017. "For us, Splashy Fen will always be a masterpiece in the making," says Berry. "Every year, we endeavour to do better, bigger, more fan-centric things than the year before. In 2016, we had yoga sessions and daily trail runs. In 2017, we’ll have yoga sessions, daily trail runs, meditation sessions, cooking classes and a Splashy Fen restaurant, where hungry fans can book a table for a seated meal. We’re determined to make the whole experience an awesome one that the whole family can enjoy, and which appeals to our broad spectrum of fans. For us, it’s the little things like this, coupled with the big-name international acts and the proudly South African musicians that will continue to make Splashy Fen a must-attend event on everyone’s calendar."
