Black Coffee and friends to gig in SA

Johannesburg - Celebrated deejay and producer, and one of South Africa’s greatest musical exports, DJ Black Coffee, has a huge musical treat in store for his fans.

City Press reliably believes that DJ Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, will be hosting his first major festival in South Africa this December.

The festival announcement, expected to be made on Tuesday, will be followed by the line-up announcement at the end of this month. It will feature some of the deejay’s famous international friends as well as local favourites.

The deejay, who has a residency at a luxury Las Vegas resort called Wynn Las Vegas and at Hï Ibiza in Ibiza, Spain, frequently rubs shoulders with deejays from all over the world, as well as with artists like P Diddy, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, with whom he has recorded a song.

The festival is Black Coffee’s concept and has the support of his record label Soulistic Music, with major brands as partners. Johannesburg fans can look forward to the musical festivities on December 15. Sources say the hitmaker hopes to attract more than 15 000 partygoers.

This week, DJ Black Coffee also made international headlines when he scooped the Best Deep House DJ award for the third year in a row at the DJ Awards in Ibiza, rubbing shoulders with other legends who picked up trophies such as Masters at Work, Roger Sanchez and Carl Cox.
