Calvin Harris rushed to hospital after car crash

Los Angeles - Calvin Harris was rushed to hospital following a car accident in Los Angeles on Friday.

The 32-year-old DJ - whose real name is Adam Wiles - was injured after a VW Beetle hit his Cadillac SUV near Los Angeles International Airport at 23:00 and he was taken to hospital by paramedics.

TMZ reports that Calvin was treated for a laceration to his face but left "against medical advice" because there were no private rooms available.

Calvin, who was a passenger in the SUV, had been on his way to Las Vegas to perform at Omnia nightclub but had to pull out following the accident.

A message on his Facebook page read: "Adam’s transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport. As a result, he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days."

One of the passengers in the other car, driven by a 16 year old, reportedly broke her pelvis after being violently ejected from the vehicle in the collision.

It has been a tough few weeks for Calvin and his girlfriend Taylor Swift, 26, as earlier this month an "emotionally disturbed" man was detained at her New York City home.

The 'Shake It Off' singer wasn't present when the unnamed person showed up on the doorstep but her security staff found the would-be intruder and called police to the Tribeca property.

NYPD and NYFD officers described the man as "disoriented" as he was handcuffed, while video posted on TMZ showed he had a duffel bag, and police searched his belongings.

Sources told the website the guy was "emotionally disturbed" and he was taken to hospital for evaluation.

It is unclear if he made any threats of gained access to her home, but so far he hasn't been booked for any crime.
