Cape Town - Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow turned a dreadful commute into something amazing for New Yorkers over the weekend.
New York City subway riders, infamous for not stopping until reaching their destinations, took a time-out to dance along to Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow.
A video surfaced over the weekend of a crowd dancing to the song at a Times Square subway station.
Twitter user @mattwhitlockPM captured footage of a prancing older man joining in with a group of young women singing along to the catchy lyrics, reported XXL Mag.
The video was captioned: “Play Bodak Yellow anywhere and a party will start, guaranteed. @iamcardib brings the people together #nycsubway."
The video has since gone viral and has been retweeted over 124 000 times.
The response to the video is a far cry from the negative reactions received by the Victoria’s Secret Angels rapping along to the lyrics backstage at a fashion show, according to media website Mashable.
In September the single made it to the top spot of Billboard’s Hot 100 list, making Cardi B the first female rapper in about 20 years to reach No 1 with a solo hit.
Bodak Yellow has remained unstoppable since it received a Grammy nomination.
The rapper’s new single, Cardier Cardi, is expected to drop before the end of the year.
