Francois van Coke scoops 5 Ghoema awards

Cape Town – Afrikaans rocker Francois van Coke walked away with five Ghoemas at the 5th annual Ghoema Music Awards held at the Joburg Civic Theatre on Monday night.

Francois, who released his self-titled debut album last year, won two awards in the categories for Best Rock Album and Digital Album of the Year. Then he also walked away with three awards for his song Toe Vind Ek Jou featuring  Karen Zoid in the categories Most Popular Song of the Year, Digital Song of the Year and Best Song of the Year.

In a post on his Facebook page, Francois revealed he got a bit "flustered" on stage and thanked everyone he may have forgotten about.

The rocker also took to Instagram to thank his fans and shared a photo of him holding his awards as well as a photo of him and his wife at the ceremony.

Other big winners for the night include Elvis Blue, who walked away with seven Ghoemas, and Andriëtte who won two awards.
