New York - A music organiser says Kanye West had to abruptly cut short his appearance at a music festival in New York City due to an "emergency".
It happened while the hip hop artist was performing at The Meadows Music and Arts Festival at Citi Field in Queens Sunday night.
Witnesses tell the Daily News that West told the crowd he was "sorry" there was a "family emergency" and had to "stop the show".
Reports have since revealed that the emergency was due to his wife, Kim Kardashian, who was held at gunpoint and robbed in her hotel room.
A spokesperson for Kim Kardashian West confirmed that the reality star was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room on Sunday night by two armed masked men dressed as police officers.
The representative said the reality TV star is "badly shaken but physically unharmed".
Kanye was reportedly singing his song Heartless when he abruptly ended his performance 45 minutes into his set.
