Kesha and DJ Zedd release powerful new song together

Los Angeles – Kesha has released her much-anticipated new track with DJ Zedd.

The song, True Colours, is the 29-year-old singer’s first musical offering since a court ruled she could not leave her contract with Dr Luke.

Zedd told Dr Luke earlier this week he got "permission" to record a track with Kesha and made it clear that his song with the star is fully legal.

Zedd announced the track on Wednesday by posting an image of the single's cover, along with the caption: "ZEDD & KESHA - TRUE COLORS. OFFICIALLY OUT: 4/29 Music can be freedom."

He quickly followed it with a message on Twitter directed at her former producer Dr Luke, writing: "Just to clarify: We didn't use any loopholes. Kemosable / RCA gave us permission to release."

And Luke wasted no time in thanking the star for his "clarification".

He wrote back: "Thanks for the clarification @Zedd."

The exchange follows Kesha's legal battle with Dr Luke, after she alleged he had drugged, raped and emotionally and verbally abused her during their working relationship.

The Tik Tok star pressed charges in court but her claims were dismissed in April and he has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

However, she is pursuing the lawsuit to end their recording contract.

Meanwhile, the blonde beauty took to her Instagram account on Wednesday and declared it was a "miracle" she had found her "voice" again with DJ Zedd.

The pop star posted a black and white photograph of her singing into a microphone in his studio and captioned the image: "It's a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a fucking beautiful person with a heart of gold @zedd #truecolors (sic)"
