Koos Kombuis is getting the internet to fund his new album and it’s going great

Cape Town – Koos Kombuis has turned to crowdfunding site Jumpstarter to raise funds for a brand new album, titled Langpad na Lekkersing.

With 31 more days to go, studio time has been booked as the campaign has already raised R86 800 since its launch on 28 June.

On Monday Koos took to Twitter to call on fans to hurry up if they want to get their hands on an album, as they are nearing the minimum goal of R100 000.

What the new album is all about:

In a video Koos explains that the album will contain songs that are about "where we are now, in Afrikaans, in South Africa, what we believe in, and the road ahead. We are in very very dark times at the moment, the whole planet is basically in its moer, there’s nowhere to run, we must make South Africa work."

Koos' main purpose in making the album? "We want to record an album that tells everyone: Afrikaners aren’t dose. We aren’t all like that, we are actually very nice."

Koos also revealed on his Facebook page that David Kramer will be joining him in studio for what we can only imagine will be an awesome collaboration.

What you can contribute and what you will get in return:

As with all crowdfunding campaigns, there are certain tiers of pledges and what you receive in return.

Pledges from R200 to R50 000 have already been made, securing returns ranging from a free download of the album to Koos’ famous Beyerskloof guitar. (It already has a new owner in case you were planning on donating that R50k!)
