Local boy band announce split

Cape Town - The Afrikaans boy band, NRG, will no longer be performing together.

The trio, Christian Botha, Abel Knobel and Stephan van Huyssteen, announced the split on Friday.

The Mayday singers have decided to bring the band’s performances to a halt as each of the members embark on their own career paths.

"We each have other areas of interest as well. We’re also solo artists with our own style and we would like to explore those avenues. It’s been a fantastic journey up to now for which we are incredibly grateful, but what awaits now is even more exciting,” the band said in an official statement.

New information about the boys’ solo careers will be shared on their individual Facebook pages.
