Mango Groove to headline Up the Creek 2018

Cape Town – Organisers announced on Wednesday that the headlining act for Jägermeister presents Up the Creek 2018 is Mango Groove.

Rated by many as the best live act in South Africa, organisers are delighted to bring the flair of this legendary group to their annual river party. Claire Johnston of Mango Groove says: "We are really excited about this one – Mango Groove has never performed at Up The Creek before. It is one of those very special events on the SA Live Show calendar that every musician and band wants to be a part of…and in 2018 it happens for us! We are planning a total Mango Madness onslaught in this amazing part of South Africa. The band is having more fun than ever before and we can`t wait to see you there!"

The following bands and DJs have also been confirmed to perform:

Spoegwolf, MT Seas, Aidan Martin, Sunset Sweatshop, Mobbing Bali, Westcoast Wolves, Sublime Tribute Project, Jackal & The Wind, Native Young, Southern Wild, Jerry & The Bandits, Sol Gems, Boulevard Blues, We Are Charlie, Veranda Panda, The Kiffness, Jak Skandi, Bongeziwe Mabandla, Crimson House, and Nomadic Orchestra.

More acts to be announced at the end of November.

Jeffrey the Jam Van will be on standby to entertain you before the Jägermeister Main Stage kicks off and the Sedgwicks’ Old Brown Food Court stage will be running in the mornings and afternoons to showcase new and upcoming artists.

Savanna Premium Cider is coming back to the festival in a big way, supporting live comedy; fresh local acts; draught cider on tap at the main bar; DJs on their Late Night Stage; fantastic giveaways throughout the weekend, and more. Rumour has it they’re even hosting a Savanna style brunch on the Sunday morning.

While the festival is one of the few remaining that still allows you to camp next to your car (should you choose) there is also a greener campsite where no cars are allowed or you can book pre-pitched tented accommodation at www.heartbreakmotel.co.za

In true Up The Creek tradition (the festival originally started out as a birthday celebration) organisers believe in celebrating every milestone. Let them know if it’s your birthday between 25 and 28 January and they’ll help you celebrate with a surprise on the weekend. E-mail caitlin@redhotevents.co.za.

UTC is going cashless. In 2018 they’ll be introducing Howler Loaded. Once you’ve purchased your festival ticket, set up and preload your festival money onto your Howler account, collect your loaded wristband at the festival and you’re ready to go! Any questions feel free to get in touch with the festival directly.
