Los Angeles - Rita Ora has settled a dispute with her record label Roc Nation.
The I Will Never Let You Down hitmaker has come to an agreement after the company - owned by Jay Z - sued Rita for $2.4m for breaching the terms of her contract and not providing the required number of albums throughout the years she's been with them.
A document filed to the New York Supreme Court show the pair have now settled things out of court and Rita is free to choose a new label.
Meanwhile, in previous documents, Roc Nation denied Rita's claims that Jay Z is more focused on other things, such as his streaming site TIDAL, than his record label.
It reads: "[They] have tirelessly promoted [her] career, investing millions of dollars in marketing, recording and other costs, which was instrumental in guiding Ms. Ora to her current level of success and fame.
"When Rita signed, Roc Nation and its senior executives were very involved with her as an artist. As Roc Nation's interests diversified, there were fewer resources available and the company suffered a revolving door of executives. Rita's remaining supporters at the label left or moved on to other activities, to the point where she no longer had a relationship with anyone at the company."
After the filing, Rita's lawyer Howard King added: "Jay Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalised. We believe that Roc Nation's distributor, Sony Music, has required Roc Nation to file this action to preserve whatever rights Sony might have pending resolution."
