SA festival gurus team up for brand new music festival

Cape Town – A brand new music festival will be hitting Pretoria in November.

A Place In The Sun is an exciting new music project put together by old hands in the festival industry.

The team consists of Gareth Wilson, Nicol Van den Berg & Jan Roode of the Good Luck Bar, Catherine Grenfell, previously from 5fm and Dawid & Henk Fourie, promoters of the notorious RAMfest Festival.

What is the festival all about?

"A magical world, just outside the Milky Way awaits you... A Place in The Sun.

"Join us on a journey, filled with music, camping and swimming. Make memories with friends and like-minded music lovers.

"Dress up alongside astronauts, space aliens and other out of this world beings.

"Get ready to go on a discovery of a music universe like no other where everyone finds their place in the sun."

Very mysterious right?

Catherine told Channel24 that they will be releasing the festival line-up over the next few weeks.

She also elaborated on what people can expect: "A place in the sun is for all genres of music and your searchers of new music, people looking for something new and exciting that they have yet to see on major festival stages. This is for those people that chose the B stage over the main stage at a major festival, risking the chance of seeing the faithful tried and tested act and gambling on the odd chance of seeing an act that changes the way they think about music forever."

Event details:

Date: 18 – 20 November 2016
Venue: Nkwe Pleasure Resort, Nkwe Rd, Tierpoort, Pretoria
