The Locnville boys dish on their banging new music video

Cape Town – Locnville twins Brian and Andrew dropped a brand new music video on Tuesday.

The South African duo teamed up with East-African duo Radio & Weasel for the song, which is titled Done.

We got to chat to Brian and Andrew about the song, what it was like shooting the video and what they're up to next.

Check it out below:

What was it like working with Radio & Weasel on the song Done?

Andrew: It was a pretty painless process to be honest. Once the beat was done, we knew the vibe was right for Radio & Weasel as well as us. It was all done over e-mail, so thankfully technology has helped make colabs a lot less of a mission.

Brian: It was a great experience, especially shooting the video. When we were recording the songs, we were in different parts of the world, so we were doing everything over e-mail - but for the video we were all together which made the experience a lot more fun and collaborative

What was the most fun part of shooting the music video?

Andrew: For me, it was at the end of the day when we just had to sit in the back of that beautiful Chevy Impala and get driven around town. Not much effort on our part there!

Brian: This might sound like a lie, but I enjoyed all the running because after each take we’d look at the playback and laugh at each other’s running faces in slow motion.

What inspired the song?

Andrew: I think in a broader sense, the track is about being done with someone or something in your life and actually making that decision to walk away from it.

Brian: The inspiration came from the feeling of being okay to walk away from something that isn’t making you happy anymore. When something is done or over, it doesnt have to be a sad moment, it can be a seriously enlightening and a freeing experience, which is what we wanted to bring across in the song.

What's the one thing you want people to take away from this song?

Andrew: I want people to have a good time, that’s really it from my opinion.

Brian: I think pretty much what I said above. I want people to know that it’s okay to walk away from something that isn’t working for you anymore. It’s not a bad experience, it’s an enlightening one and a learning curve.

What's next for you?

Andrew: There’s so much going on at the moment, not just to do with the music, but business in general. I’m really keen to put out a new body of work in 2018, and we’re well on our way to achieving that.

Brian: So much! But I’m not really one to divulge too many details before anything has been announced, so for now just enjoy the song and video. Just make sure you play it loud.
