WATCH: Britney Spears got caught in a tree on stage

Los Angeles - Britney Spears avoided injury after getting stuck in a tree stage prop while performing in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The 34-year-old pop superstar was midway through singing her hit Toxic at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and about to carry out a stage stunt when her safety harness stopped working.

According to gossip website TMZ, Britney was supposed to fly across the crowd, but the malfunction meant she didn't take off and a stage director had to rescue the singer before she carried on with her performance.

The blonde beauty was performing a show as part of her Las Vegas concert residency Britney: Piece of Me, and still had the prop attached to her as she walked down stairs to continue singing.
