WATCH: US guitar maestro Kaki King joins us in studio for a chat


Cape Town – Brooklyn-based musician Kaki King recently joined us in studio to chat about her upcoming shows in South Africa.

Having arrived in South Africa on Sunday, Kaki is currently in Cape Town where she will be taking part in the Design Indaba. She will also be playing solo shows in April at the Parklife Festival in Cape Town, Lush Festival in Clarens and at the Barnyard Rivonia in Johannesburg.

Hailed by Rolling Stone as "a genre unto herself," Kaki has released has released 8 extraordinarily diverse and distinctive albums over the last 13 years, performed with such icons as Foo Fighters, Timbaland, and The Mountain Goats, contributed to a variety of film and TV soundtracks including Golden Globe-nominated work on Sean Penn’s Into The Wild, and played to an increasingly fervent following of music lovers on innumerable world tours.

Chatting to Channel24’s Jennifer Sanasie, Kaki lets us in on her thoughts about South Africa and what it takes to put one of her shows together.
