Los Angeles - Zayn Malik debuted the song he wrote about his ex-fiancée Perrie Edwards on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old singer - who quit One Direction in March - made his first TV appearance as a solo artist and performed his second single, It's You, a song he previously explained was about Perrie.

The former couple split in August, amid claims he had dumped her by text, something the singer has previously denied.
He is currently dating model Gigi Hadid, who appears in the video for his debut single Pillowtalk.
Meanwhile, Zayn also revealed the artwork for his debut solo album, Mind of Mine on the show and later posted a black and white version on Instagram.
It features a picture of the star as a cherubic youngster with tattooed arms and has already drawn comparisons to Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III album.
