We had a quickie with December Streets ahead of charity gig OneSight Acoustics

Cape Town – It’s almost time for another OneSight Acoustics event in Johannesburg at The Good Luck Bar.

What’s it about?

OneSight Acoustics is a music series brought to you by OneSight: a global public nonprofit organisation which provides sustainable access to quality vision care and eye wear to those who cannot afford it or do not have access to it. Around the world, millions of people suffer from poor vision. An eye exam and a simple pair of glasses can help them reach their full potential.

For over 27 years, OneSight South Africa has engaged thousands of skilled volunteers to hand-deliver the gift of sight to almost 9 million people in 40 countries.

The next event will be taking place on Sunday, 13 November at The Good Luck Bar and will feature artists Reason, BCUC, December Streets and DJ inviZAble.

We had a quick catch up with December Streets ahead of the show:

How are you guys doing and what have you been up to?

We’re doing fantastic, thanks for asking! The past year has been quite a ride, touring Europe, working on and releasing new material and gearing up for our National coastal tour in December. So yeah, we’ve been busy but having a blast at the same time.

You’ll be performing at the OneSight acoustic event this weekend. Tell us more about the event and why people should attend.

OneSight is a brilliant initiative by Rayban to counter the global vision crisis, raising funds and awareness for vision impaired people. We’re so glad to be a part of it, I can guarantee a day filled with awesome music and great vibes for a good cause.

What can people expect from the show?

Lots of energy and a bunch of our new music!

What’s the one thing no one knows about the band?

We all have our own start up businesses. So apart from travelling and performing our hearts out, we’re gearing up for global digital domination.

What’s next for you?

Touring the country throughout December and working on new material. Our next single will be out in the next few weeks!
