Mumbai - Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has rubbished claims she has not declared her full earnings to Indian authorities as "malicious rumours" after a raid on her home amid suspicions of tax evasion.
"We deny the many malicious rumours being spread in the media on the basis of some unidentified sources," a spokesperson for the actress was quoted as saying by the domestic Press Trust of India news agency.
Chopra was cooperating fully with the income tax department and would make no further comment until the investigations were complete, the spokesperson added.
Tax officials in Mumbai raided the homes and offices of Chopra and fellow actress Katrina Kaif on Monday, prompting claims in the Indian media that the popular actresses had not fully declared their assets.
Kaif issued a similar statement through her chartered accountant on Thursday, saying she was "disturbed" at similar speculation.
