Fancy a snuggle? Well now you have to pay for it!

Los Angeles - A company has started selling hugs for money.

The Snuggery, in Rochester, New York State, allows prospective customers to determine how long they want to curl up for and are priced accordingly.

The company's website explained: "The Snuggery is a place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life and focus on the simple restorative pleasure of touch.

"Though science has unquestionably supported the psychological and physical benefits of non-sexual touch, Americans distinctly lack it. It's time for change."

Previous academic research has also suggested that people in the US touch openly less frequently then people in other countries.
