Fred Willard fired after arrest

Los Angeles – Fred Willard was fired on Thursday from his PBS job after being arrested on suspicion of committing a lewd act in an adult movie theatre, reports The New York Times.

Willard, who was arrested when police allegedly caught him with his pants down in an adult movie theatre, lost his job as narrator of Antique Roadshow spinoff, Market Warriors.

WGBH, the Boston public broadcaster that produces the show, said the following on Thursday: "Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the 'Market Warriors' series."

The Market Warriors episodes that have been taped by Willard will be re-voiced by Antique Roadshow host Mark Walberg, according to reports.

Willard, perhaps best known as a dog show announcer in the movie Best in Show, was nominated four times for Emmys for guest roles on TV's Modern Family and Everybody Loves Raymond.

In addition to Best in Show, Willard has appeared in other Christopher Guest mockumentary films, including This is Spinal Tap and Waiting for Guffman.
