Marc Jacobs offers reward for clothes

Los Angeles - Marc Jacobs is offering a reward for the return of his autumn/winter 2012 collection.

Selected duplicates from the designer's forthcoming range were stolen en route to the brand's London press day last week and now the company are appealing for any information regarding the theft.

In a tweet which has since been taken down, they posted on their Twitter page: "See any chic truck drivers cruising around Europe dressed in #SS12 Collection? Get a pic & call 212-343-0222. Reward.

"We appreciate all the concern about our stolen #SS12 Collection samples! We do still have other samples thankfully. Life goes on. (sic)"

It had previously been claimed that the entire collection had been stolen, but it was later clarified the originals are safe in New York and only selected duplicates were taken.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "We are investigating an allegation of theft which occurred in the Mount Street area at approximately 08:00 on Wednesday after a quantity of clothing, bags and shoes were found to be missing."
