Mother of Arnie's love child revealed

Los Angeles - The mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger's love child has been revealed: Mildred Patty Buena, 50, who worked as a housekeeper/assistant at Schwarzenegger's Los Angeles mansion for 20 years.

Numerous US media outlets broke the identity on Wednesday, with gossip site TMZ.com giving the most details about the woman at the centre of the scandal.

Schwarzenegger admitted fathering the boy, now 13, on Monday, after the Los Angeles Times confronted him with the story.

The former California governor, who has been reviving his showbiz career since leaving office in January, said he had only recently told his wife, Maria Shriver, 55, about the child.

Philanderer

Shriver has since left Schwarzenegger and the couple announced their separation after 25 years of marriage and four children together.

According to the latest reports, Buena gave birth to Schwarzenegger's child just one month after Shriver gave birth to the couple's youngest son. Schwarzenegger was informed of his paternity when the child was a toddler and has supported the mother since then, reports said.

Buena, 50, also has three other children from her ex-husband and lives in a large house with a pool outside Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

The scandal broke seven years after Schwarzenegger refuted allegations raised in his first run at the governorship that he was a serial philanderer who also routinely groped women against their will. At the time, Shriver was his strongest supporter, helping him deny the reports as he won his first election.
