London - Earthquake victims, needy children and bereaved military families are among causes set to benefit from a charitable fund set up by Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton for their forthcoming wedding, it was announced on Wednesday.
Well-wishers planning to mark the occasion of their wedding on April 29 can channel their donation to the fund which will distribute the money among charities in Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
"Having been touched by the goodwill shown them since the announcement of their engagement, Prince William and Miss Middleton have asked anyone who might wish to give them a wedding gift to consider giving instead to a charitable fund," said an official statement.
The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, New Zealand's Christchurch Earthquake Appeal and the Royal Flying Doctors Service in Australia are among the causes named.
Donations can be made in six currencies through this website.
