London - Prince Harry is hoping to join a group of disabled military veterans as they try to ski to the North Pole.
The team is due to begin a four-week, 320 km trek from Siberia across the polar ice cap in March in aid of the charity Walking with the Wounded.
Harry is patron of the charity, which helps servicemen and women who have been seriously hurt or lost limbs.
Prince Harry's office at St James' Palace said on Wednesday that 26-year-old Harry "would love to join the expedition" for part of the journey.
Harry, who is third in line to the throne, is training to be an Apache helicopter pilot in the army air corps. The palace says a decision on his participation would depend on his training schedule.
